Truckers Slang
How many times you would have heard a policeman being referred to as a bear? Well, the next time you hear it, just give the truckers an appreciating smile for their unique and of course a very fascinating slang!! They are not only interesting people speaking a whole new range of funny English words, but do hang out calling out numbers and reaching out to their colleagues in case of emergencies. While they prefer 10-4 to acknowledge that a message has been received, they choose 10-42 to signify a traffic accident. What more? They have their own lingo for having little fun too.
They use their ‘seat cover' to share the experience of having driven ‘an attractive female passenger'. Apart from just encoding words, they are creative enough to frame them up into a phrase and make it look more like what we call an idiom. They want you to ‘step on' if they utter ‘gouge on' and you have to understand that you overweigh when they claim that there too many eggs in the basket. To end it up all, their code is as smart as a detective's, as funny as a teenager's as well. Not even the broadest minded man on earth will call a ‘homosexual' his ‘good buddy'. These tuckers do. They are not just speeding up their wheels on the highways, but moving fast ahead of time too!! Cheers men!!
